Welcome
Impetus is the youth award programme of the Institute for Global Ethics UK Trust that recognizes and celebrates the work of young people in bringing to life human rights and the shared ethical values that underpin them.
To achieve an Impetus award, young people must design and carry out a project that explores and applies human rights to an issue of importance to them. The projects should be youth led and motivated by the interests and concerns of children and young people themselves.
Shape the world competition- another reason to get involved!
We would like to invite young people who have carried out an Impetus project to:
write a paragraph of between 50-500 words or
take a photograph or
create a picture
addressing the following question: How are shared ethical values such as freedom , respect or equality important in your community?
Every young person who submits an entry will receive an Impetus t-shirt, and two entries will be selected from each of the categories of primary, secondary and youth group to receive either a book token or music voucher to the value of £25.

Each October, to mark the anniversary of the introduction of the UK’s Human Rights Act in 2000, young people from each of the four nations are invited to present their projects at the annual UK Showcase Celebration in London. This celebration gives the young people involved the opportunity to share their work with a wider audience and express their ideas on human rights. |
